Picture Post: Last Of The Big Fishing Tackle Boxes. Part One

This turned out to be a bigger project than I thought it was going to be, so here's part one of two.

It's taken me awhile to get to all this, in part because I wound up with way more pictures than I thought I would, and because I had so many, I just transferred them directly from my phone to my computer, so these are all going to be way bigger, in terms of file size, than they really need to be. Between the two, it just made the most sense to split this thing up into two parts.

So, with that out of the way, let's get this started, shall we? I took all these pictures in August or September, if I remember. It's been awhile, at any rate.

Anyway, let's get on with the pictures here. This is the big orange one I think I may have mentioned in the last one of these I did. First up, here are the covers, front and back:

The back had a couple interesting labels on them. This first one is about some of the features this thing has:

When it was new, it also came with a special bonus of lure identification labels, as well:

There's some interesting stuff in here, of course:

There's quite a lot if it there, too. Like I was saying, that's part of why I'm breaking this up into two parts. It's going to take up enough of people's data and/or bandwidth as is, and I'd rather not have it be all in one big chunk if I can avoid it.

We'll get started with these plug sort of things that I think I might have called crank bait in previous posts:

For as much fun as they are to look at, I've never been much for using them. I think I also got the green fuzzy-tailed thing in another picture with another similar thing:

There were also a couple synthetic bait items in this box, a minnow and a frog:

I thought the frog looked interesting, so here's a closer look at it:

For as cool as that is, at least to me, I'm going to wrap this up on something of a downer, with just a handful of loose hooks, really:

That last one is just based on what it says on the bag. I think those are as often referred to as “weedless” hooks because they're supposed to be less likely to get caught up on things like that in the water. It's been awhile since I've done any fishing, sadly, and even longer since I've done any in a place where that might have been an issue, so I can't recall how well these thing work.

But like I said, this is where I'm going to wrap this part up. There's still more of this to come, but that's for another time.
