The 2023 Edition.
This winter has been a long one, but we're coming up on the end. It's early March, after all. That means the temperatures are starting to trend warmer and the snow is starting to melt.
A big part of why this winter has seemed so long is all the snow we've had. There was a big blizzard around the first of the year that really brought back memories of my first year of college. We got a hell of a lot of snow that year, too. The blizzard we had at the end of February added almost as much new snow as the first one, which made it seem a little more like the winter of 1996-97.
Admittedly, this year hasn't been quite that bad. When I was in college that first year, things started off with an ice storm or two in October and/or November, and I think we had more snow by the time it was all over, too.
Even though we're pretty much two and a half or three weeks away from spring, snow season is hardly over just yet. I can think of a few years when we've gotten some awful snow storms into April, 2018 being one of them. We'll just see how the next couple months play out, I guess.
See you soon.
