What Counts As Local News

It must have been a slow news day in my area the other day.

All this is something I might have let pass if it hadn't been for a few other recent events.

See, there's this guy from England who started a blog recently, saying in a Discord server we're both in that I'd given him that last little bit of inspiration to get it going. I bring it up because he did this post about the McRib at McDonald's.

So, what does an English dude's blog post about an apparently seasonal item have to do with local news for some other guy half a world away? Well, as I was saying above the jump, it must have been a slow news day in my area the other day because the day I wrote the first draft of this, one of the local news apps on my phone sent out an alert about the McRib coming back to the menu at the popular chain.

If that was a noteworthy thing in my area, there really must not be much going on around here. I know my neck of the woods isn't exactly the most exciting, but if the McRib is news, things may be worse than I realize.
