It went a little better this time around.
I didn't get myself killed, at least.
Didn't try to advance the plot either, but in the process of doing a little grinding, I find myself wondering if I didn't kind of soft lock myself somehow here. Not sure if that's even possible in many or any of these old SNES games, to be honest. There's a bit of a story to that.
See, in my running around on the world map to grind for levels, I eventually wound up talking to a lady in Grenoble again who said her husband had been in the Old Cave for awhile and was worried about what she'd do if he never came back out. With that in mind, I went back into the Spring Basement and talked to the guy who told us about the Northwest Tower and he said he didn't have anything for us at the time. I wasn't aware of that dialog change, but I don't recall having tried it before, either. Then again, it's been a dozen years since I tried it last, too.
After digging around in the Old Cave for a bit and getting some of the armor and items like I did back then, I also did some grinding in the tower, too. I think I should be good to go ahead with all this from here. I just need to actually get on with it, since I'm about where I was last time I did this.
So I'm going to try to get on with all that next time. See you then.
