Happy New Years, I Guess…

So, here we are at the end of 2025.

Seemed like it would never get here. Hell, this year seemed like it was about five at once with all the crap that went on, and I don’t just mean in general.

I mean, sure, there was all the shit that happened in the world at large, with the wildfires that happened in California to start the year off and our old-new-old president again shortly thereafter. There’s plenty of other awful shit like that that I’m sure I’m not thinking of right now.

I’ve also learned at least one hard personal lesson along the way that I might get into a bit more later. But that’ll have to wait for another time, too. It’s getting a little late as I write this and I should have been in bed a while ago.

There have been a few good things along the way as well, I suppose. Not as many as I’d hoped for, and it seems they’re harder to think of than I’d like. I got to the west coast to visit my brother and sister-in-law; I got a new computer; and I think my health is getting better again, just to name a few.

So yeah, it’s been a long, hard year, with a few good things along the way. Hopefully, 2026 will be better than 2025. Here’s to hoping, at least.
