First Post Of 2025

Would have been nice to come up with a better title than that, but the way things have been going lately, I'll take what I can get.

So here we are, the start of another year, and it's one that I somehow never really thought I'd see. I know how that might sound, and I don't exactly mean it quite that way. See, I remember the year 2000 and really didn't think all that much about 2025 at the time, nor did I really think about it all that much in the years in between until the last couple. That's the thing, though, 25 years ago, I was only 23, and what 23 year old thinks this far ahead, right? Hell, like I was saying, I didn't really start to put all that much thought into it until recently, and I think I'm worse for it. Good news is, though, I'm at least starting to work on that, anyway, even if I am way late with that.

There's a few other things I need to get on with, as well. One of them is getting a new, or at least newer, computer. I'm pretty sure I've talked about that at least a little bit either here or on YouTube, if not both. I really need to get my ass in gear with that, because it sounds like there's a good chance prices on all these things will be going up a fair bit in the next couple months, and I'm sure that'll affect how much upgrading I can afford to do.

A big part of the reason I haven't in the couple months since I've mentioned it is that there are a few ongoing projects I'd like to get finished before I go ahead with buying that new PC. There's one in particular that I really need to get on with if I'm going to do that because of there being photos involved that I have on this hard drive that I'd rather not mess around with trying to move. I'm sure I can make that happen if I need do, but I'd prefer not to if I can avoid it. There's a couple others that I've at least got workable options for, but working from a setup like I've got now is what I prefer and it's what I'd like to keep doing if possible.

There's a handful of videos I want to get made before I move to a new computer as well, mostly because I have the thumbnails made for them already. One's the title card for the Coffee Time videos I've been using for awhile now. I'm going to try to hold onto that for at least a little while longer, though one of the decisions I might want to make going forward is if I want to change that somehow, and if so, how I want to go about that. The rest are a batch of thumbnails for JM Tries that I also just kinda need to get on with.

As always, there's also quite a lot of other things going on that will impact all this online stuff I do as well, so I'll be reassessing things as I go along and at least try to adjust as best I can. We're just at the start of the year, after all. Things are only just getting going. I'm certainly hoping for the best, but with how the last couple months of last year went, I'm sure as hell not as confident as I have been or would like to be going forward right now. I'd like for that to change, of course, but we'll just have to wait and see, since it's all we can do at this point.
