o/~ Dumbly going forward 'cuz I can't find reverse... o/~
At least things went a little better this time around. Or at least I'm hoping they did, anyway. I'll get to why at the end.
When I came back to this, I'd intended to do a little grinding before going to have a word with Guy with that other dude's assistant, but it turns out I already had her with me, I went ahead and found my way back to Guy's place to have that conversation with him.
Like I mentioned last time, he says that yeah, he's the same Guy from the start of the game, who was with Maxim and the others on Doom Island the last time Gades and his buddies came to do their thing, which means he's a good 120 years old at this point. When the hero tells him that it seems like history's repeating itself, Guy tries to join the party, but his age catches up with him and he buys it. On his way out, he tells the hero and Lufia that maybe Artea the Elf is still alive, since Elves naturally live a long time, and might be able to help. Between Guy and his disciple's assistant, they also say that there might be clues to Artea's whereabouts in a place called Grenoble. I've got a joke about that I'll probably reuse when I get closer to that, but that won't be for awhile yet
In the meantime, there's getting back to Treck to deal with. Fortunately, there's a Short Sword on Guy's grave that's a big help at this point. I even managed to get back safely this time, and had the good sense to save after getting better weapons and armor and healing at the inn.
Since this was also pretty much a grind-baby-grind session, I also went back to grab some stuff out of the cave system east of Sheran that I forgot to on my way through the first time. All that was there was 200 gold and a potion, which came in handy for more equipment, at least, as did the grinding.
Once I healed up at the inn and saved again, I made the mistake of having another go at recruiting Agruo, which means fighting a group of monsters that sink his ship. That didn't go so well, because I think they're still a little strong for me at this point. Got the party wiped out again, and I shut the console off right after, so I'm not sure if my game's saved where I think it is. Either way, I think that'll be for another time, because it's way late and I need to do some grinding anyway.
Until next time, stay safe, have fun, keep gaming, and DFTBA!
