Never Quite So Easy

I know I keep saying I need to get on with doing all these things I’m always going on about doing, and I at least have some idea of what I need to do to make bits and pieces of them happen, if nothing else.

Actually getting them done is never quite so easy as one would like, however, as I’m sure most of us know from experience. The good news here is that now that I think I’ve got a few offline things wrangled for a moment or two, I think I can get on with some of the online stuff, as well.

The first part of that is going to be to actually get the ten-year-old stuff taken down from the Soundcloud feed I was talking about last time. I don’t think that part should be too difficult once I get back in there. I did a bit of poking around the night I did that previous post to re-familiarize myself with how all that works, and it was pretty much the same as I remembered. I suspect getting new audio files uploaded again won’t be difficult either once I get one or two of those made and ready to go.

From there, I’ll have to figure out what I want to do about doing video work again. As I think I was mentioning before, I was actually starting to get somewhere with the YouTube channel before it came time to switch out the PC. I was kind of expecting to have to learn new software to add a little production value to what I was doing on that front when I got to this point, but it turns out, I may have to get myself a newer camera as well, as it seems the one I’ve got now isn’t compatible with Windows 11. That really doesn’t come as much of a surprise, really, because it wasn’t exactly a high-end model when I got it fifteen years ago, and I wasn’t exactly getting even SD output from it on the old PC.

Thing is, it might take me a bit to get that part of all this sorted because I don’t want to put a ton of money into any of this right now, for a few reasons. Part of it is that I really don’t have much to spend in general right now, just because of how things are everywhere. As a result, there are other potential expenses I might have to worry about that might also get in the way.

Plus, I’m not exactly sure if I’m still going to be where I am right now in terms of my current living situation for the long term. I’ve been here for just shy of twenty years at this point, and there are a few issues that need to get resolved that I won’t get into right now.

So for now, there’s still a little money I need to spend, and a little learning I need to do to keep things moving in the direction I want them to go. I also still have a little figuring out to do on that front, and it’s all going to take some time. I’m not sure just how much time at the moment, but I’m sure we’ll all know when we get there.
