We needed the rain, of course, but I'm not so sure if three inches at once does us much good, either...
Even if it has been kind of dry around here lately, getting all that rain at once actually makes things worse, since it all just runs off to other places.
There was a fair bit of wind with the end of the storm last night, which somehow managed to make a mess of my garden in the process. I'd thought it was pretty well protected, since there were walls on the two sides the wind usually comes from, but it still came through strong enough to blow the sunflower I had growing over and wreck the fence. It's really too bad, too, because this is how it was doing before the storm:
Afterwards, not so much, really:
Aside from the weather and the trashed garden, there are a few good things going on, I suppose. I did pick up a second job in the last couple weeks, and it seems to be going pretty good so far. That's a step in the right direction. And I guess I've been loosing a little weight lately, too, which is a good thing.
Now the trick will be keeping positive.
