JMShearer Tries AloeVita Pomegranite-flavored Water Extended Notes

Or: Be That Friend

This is sort of an adendum to the YouTube video referenced in the title and embedded below:

Quite a lot of what I'll be at least trying to get at in this post relates to what I was saying at the end of my previous short post here: that there's been a lot going on lately, especially the last few days, and I feel compelled to say things about some of them. Because I realize that it would probably be bad if I just ran my mouth without putting any more thought than usual, I'm going to take a minute to decide on what I want to go on about and just how I should go about that. One thing I will go ahead with right now, though, is to echo some things I've heard several other online personalities saying the last couple days: we really need our friends and social outlets right now; and that anyone and everyone who's got some sort of platform, even if it's just some little shit one like mine, should try to do something good with it if they can.

I'll be the first to admit, these silly little Fat Guy Eats Junk Food videos I do from time to time, as seen above, or in the playlist embedded below, may not be much, but they are something, and that may be all that's needed in some cases. After all, I'm sure quite a lot of us know at least one person who would really appreciate having a friend over to have hot chocolate and cheap cookies, maybe while watching a room full of cats live on YouTube, for example. Some of us might even be that person, even if we have trouble saying it sometimes.

Like I was saying, this is just an idea. It may not be much of one, but it's something, and int just might be enough. It's not always easy, it might seem silly, but sometimes the silly little things are the biggest help.

This isn't exactly the biggest or fanciest gesture out there, but it's something. This is the part of the post where people who actually know what they're doing with things like this would share links to resources that might be of real, legit help to people who need more than what can come from what I've said here. Unfortunately, I'm just not that knowlegeable, but I'm hoping somebody out there reading this is and has some idea of where to start. It would be appreciated if some of that would get shared as a result of this.

In conclusion, be well, stay safe out there, and be that friend if you can.

See you soon.
