This might not advance the plot much,
but some interesting things will get done.
Now that we've got Matoya's Crystal
Eye, she'll give us a medical herb in exchange for it. Take it to
the prince in Elfheim, and when he comes to, he'll give you the
Mystic Key. Maybe it's all the years of reading 8-Bit
Theater that made me think of this, but I can just picture the
Prince of Elfheim describing the situation to his shrink later, and
doing it something like this.
First, however, is the matter of
getting the herb from Matoya. She'll turn it over in the form of a
Jolt Tonic when we give her the Crystal Eye. Get that back to the
prince in the Elven Castle and he'll turn over the Mystic Key. There
are several locations we've already been to that the Mystic Key works
in to open up extra rooms.
The Elf Castle only has a few hundred
gold and weapons and armor that wasn't as good as what we got at the
Marsh Cave. The same can be said for Corneria Castle. But at least
they have the Nitro Powder there. That will come in handy when we
actually get to the next chapter in the story.
There's also stuff in the Temple of
Fiends. The stuff there is actually useful, worth the time to get.
It's two swords for the fighter: the werebane, which is super
effective against werebeasts, and the rune blade, which is strong
against magic users. I'll be keeping them and using them from time to time because I like exploiting weaknesses like that every now and then.
There's also things to go back and get
in the Marsh Cave and the Western Keep, but I'll be doing that after
I do the class change thing later on because I like to grind once I
have my party promoted to their stronger forms.
For now, though, it's off to visit the
Dwarves. They'll blow open a channel for us to move on to other
areas of the game. See you soon with that, and as always, more
Legend of Mana, too!
